Create a Default Tiered Shipping Method

Tiered shipping offers you the option to charge shipping based on cart total but with more nuance than a straight percentage option. Specifically, you can use this shipping feature to set shipping amounts based on different price tiers of customer cart totals. Read on to find out more!

First, we need to get to the account-wide Shipping tab. There are two ways to do this — by using the settings icon at the top of the page or directly through a store.

Settings Icon:

• Hover over the settings icon in the upper right side of our application
• Select Dealer Settings

• Go to the Shipping option on the left-hand side of the page

• You are now on the account-wide Shipping tab

From A Store:

• Go to any store
• Click Edit Store
• Go to the Payment & Info tab

• Click the Manage Shipping Methods button

• You are now on the account-wide Shipping tab

Once you are in the Shipping section, we now need to create a tiered shipping method for your account that can later be added to any of your stores.

• Click on the green Add Tiered Method button

• In the box next to the  symbol, type in a display name for the shipping method
• Click on the blue Add tier button to add another tier level

• For each tier, type in the $____ flat amount + __% of the cart you want to charge for shipping

• Adjust the tier price range by changing the “from $____” number
• When you change the “from $____” number, the previous tier’s “to $_____” will automatically change to match
• The previous tier’s “to $_____” price will not update until you hit the enter key or you click on the app somewhere to get out of typing mode

• (Optional) Collect Address is on by default. Click the box next to it to turn it off
• Click the green Save button when you are finished

• Success! Now you have added a tiered shipping option to your account
• In our example, any customer whose cart total...
  • ...is under $20 will be charged $5.00 plus 5% of their cart total for shipping
  • ...is $20 or more but less than $60 will be charged $20 plus 5% of their cart total for shipping
  • ...is $60 or more will be charged $10 plus 5% of their cart total for shipping
