With options like Buy Now & Pay Later, Pay in 30 Days, and more - Klarna makes it easy for shoppers to buy higher value items while you get paid upfront and in full. Klarna is offered through Stripe, our payment processor. Here is how to get started.
Note: Klarna is enabled by default on all accounts and only Owners and Accountants have the ability to disable Klarna across the account. Please reach out to OMG Support if you’re not sure who has Owner/Accountant permissions. Users will still need to enable Klarna at the store level in the Edit Store > Payment & Info tab.
How to Manage Klarna on Your Account
In Dealer Settings, head to OMG Payments. From there, navigate to the Klarna section in the bottom right corner of the page to make Account Level changes to Klarna.
How do I activate Klarna on my store?
- To enable Klarna on the Store level, you have to first activate Klarna on the account level by switching the Activate Klarna on all stores toggle to ON. Then you can either enable the Klarna Automation or go store by store.
How do I enable Klarna on all Open and Newly Created stores?
- If you would like to automatically enable Klarna on all Open and Newly created stores, click the Automatically enable Klarna on all stores checkbox and then Save - now all Open stores and Newly Created stores will have Klarna automatically enabled.
Enabling Klarna in a Store
Now that Klarna is enabled on your account, sales reps can choose to enable Klarna as a payment method on their individual stores.
Step 1: Click “Edit Store”
Step 2: Click “Payment and Info”
Step 3: Toggle the Klarna payment method option on.
To activate Klarna flags on your products like in the image below, toggle on the display option in the store design tab of any store with Klarna enabled
Checking out with Klarna
Shoppers can select Klarna as their payment method on the checkout page. After selecting Klarna as their payment method and placing the order, shoppers will be prompted to complete the ordering process in the Klarna app as shown in the video below.

When do I get paid with Klarna?
- You get paid upfront and in full like any other normal transaction, while the consumer gets the flexibility to pay over a longer period of time.
How much does Klarna charge?
- Klarna charges a 5.99% + 30¢ fee per Klarna order, in place of the standard processing fee. This is the standard Klarna fee applied across all businesses that offer Klarna, not specific to OMG.
What are the different payment methods with Klarna?
- Klarna offers the following payment options:
- Pay in 4 - split your purchase into 4 interest-free payments, paid automatically every 2 weeks.
- Pay in 30 days - shop now and pay up to 30 days later - interest free.
- Pay Now - pay instantly with your debit or credit card via the Klarna app.
- Financing - Klarna offers financing plans to make larger purchases more manageable over time.

Are all Klarna payment options always available at checkout?
- No. Not all Klarna payment methods are always available at checkout. There are a number of factors, including address details, cardholder details, amount of order, the online store, previous order history, that are taken into consideration to determine which payment methods are offered.

How do I edit placed orders with Klarna?
- You cannot add a new charge to orders placed with Klarna. However, you can process refunds and product swaps.
How do I deactivate Klarna? What happens once deactivated?
- On the account level, Owners & Accountants can navigate to Dealer Settings > OMG Payments to toggle Klarna off. Once toggled off, Klarna will no longer appear as a payment option on the Payment & Info tab across the account, and will no longer be available on storefronts.
- On the store level, Sales Reps can navigate to Edit Store > Payment & Info > Klarna to toggle Klarna off. Once toggled off, Klarna will be removed as a payment option for consumers during checkout. Additionally, Klarna badges will be removed from the storefront on any stores that have it enabled under Store Design Tab > Price Display.
- Once deactivated, any Klarna orders that have already been placed will still be processed and can be refunded, but new Klarna orders cannot be placed.
