Do you want some customers going to one store and some customers going to another? Our software allows you to hide stores from the public and require a specific password to access that store. There will be no public URL so nobody can accidentally access the store without the specific password.
Getting The Slug:
First, you need to locate your account's slug. The slug is a unique identifier for your account and is needed to determine the correct website to go to.
For example, if my slug was omgaccountmanager, I would go to omgaccountmanager.itemorder.com and see the following screen.
You will have a different slug, but the website format will still be slug.itemorder.com. This is the website you will give to customers. They will need to enter in the sale code of the hidden store to access it.
- In order to find your slug, start building a store by clicking the Create Store button.
- Before entering any other information into the store, click the Preview Store button in the top right corner of your page.
How to find/edit a store's sale code:
Each store has a five-digit sale code when it is created.
You can use this sale code if you want, but you can also customize it. To change it, first locate the store you want to change and click Edit Store.
In the Sale Code section, you can type a new sale code for this store. It must be between 5 - 12 characters, and it must be unique and distinct from all other sale codes across our entire platform. You can then delete the direct access URL if there is any content there, so that there is no public URL for customers to use.
In this example, customers will go to omgaccountmanager.itemorder.com and enter the sale code hiddenstore to access the store. That's everything you need to know about password-protecting your stores!
