Gone are the days of distributing a new link every time you open a store, or sending three or four links to a single organization to distribute among their teams (hopefully) correctly. Maybe you already have a landing page, but need to submit a request to OMG any time you want it updated. Or, if you've never had a landing page before, you may find it a great way to keep your stores organized for your clientele! Going forward, OMG puts the power of landing pages in your hands, to modify to your preferences as needed and tweak to your satisfaction.
How to create a landing page
Setting up a landing page is quick and painless, and requires minimal work on your part. It involves setting up a new “store” and converting it to a landing page layout, which can then be modified with links to other stores or to external URLs.
- Create a new store from scratch – no need to worry about products, fees, or shipping methods.
- Edit the store and navigate to the Store Design tab.
- Click “Change” next to “Select a Layout” and choose the Landing Page layout.
- Save your changes in the Store Design tab, and you’ve got yourself a landing page!
Note: Once a store has been set up as a landing page, it cannot be changed back to a regular store. Once a store has been set up as a store, it cannot then be converted to a landing page.
Adding and Removing Links
You can modify your landing page by adding or removing links and changing design elements within the page. To add a link, just follow these steps:
- Click on the Link section on the left-hand side of the Store Design tab.
- Click "Add Link".
- Select a store to link or switch the Link to: field to enter a custom URL for an external site.
- Click "Save Link".
To remove a link, all you need to do is click the X button next to the link in the Store Design tab.
Managing your landing pages
If you need to view a list of landing pages on your account, you can click on “Manage” at the top of the page and go to “Landing Pages”. This will take you to the Landing Page Manager, which will allow you to copy, edit, delete, or preview your landing pages, and will also show you their associated sale codes. This page will also allow you to switch between the Landing Page Manager and the Template Manager.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my landing page function like a store?
No. Landing pages will not be able to sustain any kind of store functionality, including but not limited to having products, taxes, shipping, a regular storefront, rewards, etc. Furthermore, once a landing page has been created, it can never be converted back into a regular store again.
Will my landing page have a sale code like a normal store?
Yes. Sale codes are an integral part of how we tag, identify, and organize spaces on our platform (regardless of whether or not those spaces are stores or landing pages). To this end, landing pages will have sale codes, which can even be customized the same way they can be on a regular store.
Can I change the order in which links on my landing page appear?
No. Links on the landing page are procedurally placed in numerical order, then alphabetical order, with stores whose names begin with special characters being listed last; stores with a space at the beginning of their name will have the space be removed. This functionality is fully automated and cannot be changed manually.
