Effective August 30th, OrderMyGear will no longer support Internet Explorer, including the newest version, IE 11. Anyone who tries to access OrderMyGear from IE after the update will see the following pop-up, requiring them to update their browser:
Microsoft recently announced it would no longer support older versions of the browser, which led us to make this decision. You may find that many other services you use are going to be making the same shift. There are many reasons we will no longer support IE, including:
- We are not confident that IE 11 is a secure browser: Microsoft is diverting resources to focus on their most up-to-date browser, Edge, and fewer developers are testing for it. More bugs or vulnerabilities are inevitable.
- IE is slow and lacks functionality: Many of the new features that we are working to add to our site would not be supported by this browser, and lead to a poor user experience.
OrderMyGear supports all modern browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. If you are on Windows 7 or earlier, you would need to switch to Chrome or Firefox. If you are on something newer, you can go to Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Firefox.
